Hard to Get Wines
For Local Customers Only

Did you know that customers come from Alaska
to Texas to Washington DC to visit Avalon? They come for the hard to
get, highly coveted Oregon and Washington wines we specialize in on our
website.
When
we get very limited amounts of those coveted wines, we
sell them locally.
We don't put them on our website but save them for our Corvallis area
customers.
In a scan of our shelves today, we found
long sold out Van Duzer Single Block Pinot noirs, Raptor Ridge older
vintage Pinot noirs, the extremely gone Abeja Reserve Cabernet 03 and
older vintage Cadence reds, Zerba "Wild Thing", Mark Ryan "Gunmetal",
and Three Rivers Cabernet "Champoux" 02. These are wines Wine Spectator
and Robert Parker's Wine Advocate have singled out as the very best of
the Northwest.
This weekend, we're offering the just
released Evesham Wood white wines,
so in demand that they're only available
to local customers.
Evesham
Wood White Wines are Here!
Russ
Raney makes some of the best wines in Oregon, period. In
the months between his two Pinot Noir releases, we’re lucky
to have the ’05 Evesham Wood Willamette
Valley Chardonnay, the Le Puit Sec Chardonnay ’04 (Estate grown—and
organic!) and
a great ’05 Pinot Gris/Gewurztraminer blend also from
Evesham’s
Estate fruit. We’re only offering this to local customers,
so come in and check out the Oregon treasure that is Evesham Wood.

New Arrivals: O’Reilly’s--A Great Oregon Pinot for
$15!!!
For those of you who have stocked up on this wine
in past vintages, stop reading and head to the store. But just
in case, the wine opens with a lovely nose of dried lavender, rose
petals, and crushed red fruit, with a slight gamey edge. On the palate
it's red cherry and raspberry, with strawberry notes that carry through
to the finish. Soft tannins and mellow spice combine with good acidity
to make this a superb value.
Winemaker David O'Reilly says: "this is unequivocally
my favorite O'Reilly's since I started making it in 1997. I loved the
'98 and the '01, but this wine beats them all."
David describes the wine as "unctuous, fruity, and full bodied -
an indicator of the 2005 vintage. The wine is fruit forward with a beautiful
acidity, a wine that people could stock up on and put away for everyday
drinking for the next 5-6 years."
