Gobs of sweet black plums and black currant, with notes of coffee extract, caramel, and smoke. A supple, initial hit of fruit on the front end, with integrated tannins, tobacco, and dark chocolate on the finish. The '04 Chester Kidder is beautifully polished, approachable now, but with enough structure and acidity for the cellar.
