Mystic Winery
Oregon Winery
Mystic Wines was started by Rick Mafit in 1992. Rick spent the 80's making wine in California's Sonoma and Mendocino counties and came north eager to find sites where "big reds"- most notably Merlot- would thrive.
Dillon Mafit (Rick's son) designed the mono chromatic label which is printed on actual "cork" paper- the idea emulating the reserve bottlings of small wineries in Portugal. Each label varies with the patterns created by the natural cork and the way it absorbs the sepia ink.
Mystic Wines has produced small amounts of Merlot since 1992, and started releasing small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah in 2000.
Known for the distinctive "cork" label and the rich flavor of their Merlots, this is a tiny winery making rich, intensely flavored wines from grapes grown in Southern Oregon.
