For the second vintage in a row, Fielding Hills' "sleeper wine" is the Cab Franc. Fantastic aromas of baking spice, licorice, fragrant red berries, and distant cedar smoke.

The supple flavors offer and perfect combination of fresh and jammy raspberry with darker berry and spicy currant emerging. A trace of minerality shines through the creamy finish, and you're left thinking of the myriad dishes you could pair with this stellar Cab Franc.

The nose is playful, with red berries, black cherry candy and caramel. Then POW! Fielding Hills Cabs capture the essence of Cabernet, with a dense cassis core accented by sweet black cherry. Great structure and balance. The caressing finish echoes with dried herb, licorice, earth, and generous black fruit.

Paul Gregutt's Top 100 Washington wines for 2006 included the Fielding Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 04 at the NUMBER THREE SPOT. The only wines ranked higher were from Quilceda Creek and Cayuse.

Merlot skeptics look out: Fielding Hills makes a real head-turner of a Merlot. Unusually rich and full-bodied, the dark red cherry and tobacco aromas beckon you into the glass. Gushing plums and cherries mix with peppery barrel spice and succulent, slightly earthy red fruit on the savory finish, lasting nearly a minute. Magnificent Merlot.

The most "user-friendly" of the Fielding Hills wines, the Tribute (formerly Riverbend Red) is a winner from first sip. Delicious, huge black cherry and mocha flavors fill your mouth, adding sweet plum, tobacco and anise on the long, slightly chewy finish.

Heady, dark aromas of violets, bacon smoke, espresso bean, and spiced black berries announce the arrival. Multi-demensional and layered, the black berries, plums and currant just don't stop giving.

The tannins are present, balanced by big fruit and acidity, creating a Washington Syrah that's at once burly and nimble.
